So after taking a look around the castle, you still have more time. You can stroll down to the small harbor lined with enclosed terraced houses. It may seem humble, but it has a long history. The Abyssinian queen launched her campaign in the mythical land of Benut (possibly Yemen). After several centuries of Arab conquest, it remained the largest port on the Red Sea until the 1840s. It was the favorite port for pilgrims traveling from North Africa to Mecca.
After visiting the Ottoman castle, the church, and the mosque, you can go shopping. In Qusayr, there is the cheapest market where you can find papyrus, perfumes, shisha, alabaster, silver, and other goods. This place has better prices because the rents are lower than the rents that are paid in hotels and Port Ghalib, so you can buy many things there. But think carefully and choose wisely what you want before purchasing
